SHEPHERD’S PIE! Ultimate comfort food!!

I really think that we can categorize this dish as “ultimate comfort food ! Mash potato and meat. It will be hard for the kids to say no!! As a French lady I haven’t grown up with this kind of meal!!! Purée was usually served along with grilled fish or with a steak cooked in the pan! ohlala so good by the way! we used to fight to get the juicy of the meat to pour it on the mashed potato! Another real confort ! Later on, while leaving by myself, the mashed potatoes and eggs was my kind of comfort food!!! Arriving to the US, still this dish haven’t come to my intention! But while I was starting my YouTube channel and navigated more on the net and family group , the shepherd pie did not stop coming on my screen!!! I had to try ! It is a pure goodness! So delicious! It feel like we are giving a bite on a little white cloud full of goodnees! Kids loved it! Asked for more!!! A nice green salad will go along just so perfectly! And here is another stamp to add on our recipe files!

1 Box of fresh white mushroom (you can use a small can )

1 Carrot

3-4 Dry tomato

1 Cup of corn

1 Onion

1 Pound ground meat

5-7 tbsp tomato sauce

Salt & pepper

A dash of olive oil

1 Egg

2 Tbsp breadcrumb

For the mash

5 Potato

3 clove of garlic

1/2 stick margarine or olive oil (I like to use both)

If you some cream it is the best to put as well

Cut all your vegetables in a small cube. In the saucepan, without oil on medium heat, saute all your vegetables add a drop of olive oil and add the meat with salt and pepper . When the meat is fully cook and the tomato sauce , combine all well . Reserve

For the mash Just simply cut the potato into 3 or 4 pieces. Put them in water along with the garlic clove. With water bring in to a boil and let it cook until fully cooked. Discard the water and with olive oil or margarine mash the potato until creamy.

Now it is time to assemble in a oven dish pour the meat and veggie and top it with the mash . If you want a scrumptious finish you can put the mash into a pastry bag with the curly tip and just top it like that . Brush some egg on it with crumb all over and in the oven it goes for 30 minutes at 400 F

Voila to tell you something the day after its even better.
