A delicious Caramelized chicken drum with mustard & honey.

Making dinner every night for your loved ones is not such an easy task. Since the kids have grown up , I had to find an easy way out for the weekly meals. So this is it. Let’s switch on the oven and forget about the stove! Lets prepare our all meal in just one large roasting pan. Some protein and some fresh vegetable to roast along. That all we need to make it happen. Then of course a little creativity. Like those chicken drums that everyone has loved so much . Spending a little less than 30 minutes in the kitchen and still make something simple and flavorful. Easy meal should be made more often.
So for tonight that will be…baked chicken drumsticks with mustard and honey. C’est parti!

Let’s count 2-3 drumsticks per person.

12 pieces Chicken drum. ( choose some nice fat ones)

4-5 tbsp olive oil.

2 carrots.

3 potatoes.

1 turnip.

1 orange.

3/4 small red grappes (But any one will do).

1 tsp salt.

1 tsp pepper.

1 tsp turmeric.

1 tsp paprika

2 tbsp mustard.

2 tbsp honey.

Few springs oregano.

Proceed

Switch on oven at 450F 230C

Prepare a large saucepan with olive salt and pepper, turmeric and paprika. Don’t need to mix. Just set aside..

Wash and peel all your vegetables. Cut them all into nice Chunks. Just make sure there are all the same caliber..it will ease to cook them uniformly. Place them on the roasting pan.

Take the chicken drumsticks , wipe them all with a kitchen paper towel and place it along the veggies.

Take the orange and juice it. On top of all. You can even leave the skin in just make sure to wash the orange before in that case. Mix everything well. Make sure that all vegetables and each drums are perfectly well coated of spices and olive oil. Your can add a little olive oil if necessary.

Finally place in the grapes and oregano. Start on baking for about 40 minutes..

In the mid time prepare a bowl with the mustard and honey.. mix them well together with some salt and pepper. Pour just a 2-3 tbsp of water and set aside.

After 40minutes, pour the mustard and honey liquid all over the chicken and vegetables. Mix nicely flipping the drums that they get a uniform color, and continue on cooking for about 4 minutes or until drums and tender and so ready.

how do we know if our poultry is ready ?

When cooking any kind of chicken it needs to reach a intern temperature of 165F/ 74C

Drums will take between 30 to 45 minutes depending on their size. Has the honey mustard just 5 minutes before the end of cooking.

That’s being said, it is very helpful to have a kitchen thermometer when roasted meat or chicekn..

Once your chicken is ready, take it off the oven and cover it with aluminium paper. Let it rest for about 10 minutes before serving.

The taste is absolutely gorgeous. . The bites from the grape pare just so surprising! It is amazing.

While eating the drums with the tip of our fingers, you will enjoy the veggies along a green salad. It is a such simple meal to put together And yet so attractive. It will please your crowd for sure.
